We have the fantastic news to share that Baby E has a forever family!! It's not us, but we couldn't be happier for her and her new family! We are indeed celebrating! Thank you all for praying for her, donating money, and sending her love...please remember her in the weeks and months ahead as her journey will not be an easy one even with a loving forever family.
Baby E touched us, and we will forever be changed by her. She unlocked a room in our hearts we didn't know existed...perhaps another little Ethiopian girl will one day occupy it.
In the meantime...we turn our hope, faith and love to our baby boy. We're soooo ready to meet him.

October 5, 2012- #1 on infant boy wait list!!!
July 23, 2012- Accepted an offer on our Charleston home, Fredrik signed offer letter with Toshiba, looking for a new home study agency in NC because we're MOVING. Officially #8, Unofficially (but the one that counts) #2!!! Whew!
March 16, 2012- officially #11 on infant boy list, unofficially #5. Application submitted for Baby E, needing lots more information...
December 5, 2011- We're officially #15 (Wow, took 5 MONTHS to move one spot)
August 16, 2011- Dossier finally being sent to Ethiopia for translation.
July 5, 2011- Put final forms in the mail, incl. USCIS approval and education. No more paperwork (right?)!
June 27, 2011- We're officially #16, unofficially #10.
June 21, 2011- We're officially #17, unofficially #11.
June 15, 2011- We're officially #18 on the wait list, and unofficially #12 with 6 families ahead of us on hold.
May 27, 2011- Biometrics appointment. We've moved to #21 on the wait list.
May 3, 2011- we get the phone call that we are finally on the "wait list" for an infant boy... #23!
March 11, 2011- our family has broadened our options now being open to an infant or toddler boy.
March 9, 2011- intercountry adoption in Ethiopia is reduced by 90%. Instead of 40 adoptions processed daily, only 5 will be processed per day
February 22, 2011- changed agencies and began moving forward again.
December 27, 2010- found out our agency has a case under investigation. Everything comes to a halt.
December 9, 2010- social worker came to our house for the first part of our homestudy
December 8, 2010- had our physicals and blood work done
November 13, 2010 - Sent in paperwork for Homestudy and Dossier... keeping things moving
October 11, 2010- requested birth and marriage certificates from Wilkes Co and Chatham Co, NC and Sweden, and mailed out reference letter forms to our references
September 22, 2010 - Phone orientation with Gladney.
September 10, 2010 - Mailed initial Information Sheet to Gladney Adoption Agency ("Gladney")

- Allison is a yogamama, and teaching artist specializing in yoga, dance and improvisation. She is also a doula, and offers birth support to her yoga students. Fredrik is a superstar at Toshiba and is pretty fantastic with a camera. He plays a mean game of tennis. Together they like to travel, eat vegetarian food, and participate in their global village. They have an adorable daughter, Kysa born May 2, 2010. The whole family is excited about adopting a baby boy from Ethiopia...this is their story.
